SENIOR CITIZENS

For many senior citizens even changing a light bulb can be difficult - and dangerous if a ladder is involved! We have adapted our Home Management service to meet the requirements of senior citizens wishing to remain safely in their own homes but who may not be able to maintain them themselves. Organising contractors can be very stressful and especially so for older people who may not know current methods, regulations & costings. This and a natural lack of trust often discourages senior citizens from having even the most basic of maintenance work done. Seeing your home deteriorate and devalue for lack of routine maintenance is both depressing and stressful.

PEACE OF MIND FOR RELATIVES - YOUNG & OLD

We would all like our elderly relatives to live in their own homes for as long as they would wish but as they get older they often need help and advice regarding home maintenance matters. It is also true that our increasingly time-poor lives and the global workplace can make it impossible to offer, organise or oversee home maintenance work for them and in the absence of immediately available family or friends the elderly can be vulnerable to exploitation by unscrupulous contractors who may misrepresent the work needed, the quality and cost of that work. That is when you call me.

SERVICES

I am a retired police officer and can deal directly with the client or if preferred, a nominated family member and act as their representative in all home maintenance and home modification matters. I can install smoke/carbon monoxide alarms, careline emergency call systems, grab rails, non-slip bath and shower surfaces, adapted toilets, showers and baths, stair lifts, access security, broadband/wifi and timed or remote controlled curtain openers. I can even move furniture, set up TV's and get you online with WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, X & ebay and I'll happily advise if a client is concerned they may be or have been targeted by scammers.

I can carry out a ‘Home Safety & Care Inspection’ which enables essential work to be prioritised and a rolling maintenance programme drawn up. Alternatively you can call me on an ad hoc basis (no job too small), thus substantially reducing stress and worry for all concerned.

I offer a secure single point of contact for senior citizens to obtain fully insured tradesmen, contractors and reputable companies to ensure any home maintenance or modification task is handled quickly & efficiently whilst minimising the worries associated with contractors in the home, sub-standard work and inflated prices. Where the task is too big for me to tackle alone I will obtain quotes and quality assure the work, ensuring any snagging is dealt with.
